Et pendant ce temps, Simone veille!

The acclaimed French play "Et pendant ce temps, Simone veille!" ("Meanwhile, Simone Is Watching Over Us!") returns to Bangkok for two special performances. Created in 2013, this stage play has been continuously performed in Paris for over a decade, with more than 1,800 shows to its name.

The play follows the stories of three women across four generations, guided by the witty and committed Simone, who highlights key dates in France's feminist struggles from the 1950s to the present. Three actresses embody these women, portraying their hopes, compromises, and battles.

With humor and sharp insight, the production explores themes from abortion rights to medically assisted reproduction, the contraceptive pill, and family planning. It examines our inheritances and ongoing struggles, shedding light on major social advances while also addressing persistent issues like the gender pay gap, mental load, and everyday sexism. The play emphasizes the crucial link between the personal and the political, underscoring that gender equality remains a daily fight that continues to fuel new feminisms and bring visibility to the struggles of younger generations.
